Me: No serial killer would ever lure me into their murder van. I'm too smart for that.

Murderer:

@echobit oh my gosh, I think I need a bookshop on wheels now. #Books
@echobit reminds me of chitty chitty bang bang and the child catcher 🤣
@echobit @donmelton They would have to murder me IN the van, because once I got in, I’m not leaving until I’ve read every single book! “Put down the hatchet. I’m just getting to the good part!”
@echobit And….. I’m a goner…
@echobit would gladly put my life at risk to chill in that book nook
@echobit damn, they finally got me.
@echobit I'd be dead but it'd be worth it.

@echobit for anybody interested, here's a video about the van:

https://youtu.be/dMNMAVujeS4

It's a mobile used bookstore but, kinda sadly, looks like they moved into a physical location but the booktruck was mainly made, according to the video, to inspire other booktrucks into existence.

Alberta's First Bookshop on Wheels

@echobit right... and i am to believe the books don't end up all on the floor every single time the truck stops 🤡
@logan Have you never seen a film set? 😜
@echobit I'm as good as done for with that enticement.
@echobit @d6 Literal LOL but also sudden wave of grief for the bookmobile I used to frequent that never reopened after the covid lockdowns.
@echobit That bookmobile is going to murder... your boredom!
@echobit seriously funny! 😂🤣🤣🤣
@echobit That’s how they’d get me for sure.
@echobit this is Daisy Chain Books in Edmonton, Alberta. I don't know if they still run the book mobile anyone, because they now have a store front.
@echobit
#ALT4you it's a white van with the back door open and shelves full of books on all three walls. The floor is black and white squared and has two small black carpets. There are small lights on the sides and on top of the shelves like at a Christmas tree. In front there is a sign that says "book shop on wheels? Yup"
@echobit @Flominator The sign reads, "A bookshop on wheels?? Yup. Daisy Chain Book Co. Alberta's only book truck."
@Flominator Thank you so much. Can't update the alt text. Get an error. 😩
@echobit @lampjaded I wonder how they keep the books from flying off the shelf.

@twipped @echobit That's the horrifying part: you get in there and they're just glued to the shelf as the doors close and they drive away with you.

Well, in the dark version.

The real one? Good question! Do they fold? Are there curtains? Do the shelves slope backward enough?

@lampjaded @twipped Thanks, now I'm even more scared.
@lampjaded @twipped @echobit When I look closely there's little pegs near the floor. My guess is there's wood panels that slip on to those pegs and latch at the top somehow.
@echobit
Moin 🙋🏻‍♂️
🚐📚+🛌🛀=🏡
@echobit imagine going around corners in that!
@echobit I’d happily go to my death.
@echobit Am I the only one that wants to take that for a spin? Speedy left turn, then 'pedal to the metal' and finish of with a full speed right turn?
@echobit well you're not going to die alone. I'm sure to jump into that psycho bookshop as well.
@echobit That easy-to-clean lino floor is a bit suspicious…
@fishidwardrobe Yey. Always pay attention to little details. 😂
@echobit TBF, they’d have to interrupt me reading which is perilous in and of itself
@echobit You stole this from @Author_PCorrell on twitter. Bad cess on you and all plagiarists.
@echobit Add a coffeee pot and a comfy chair and I’ll never be seen again.
@echobit
*struggles to remove the gag while hands and feet are bound*
“Hey, hey! Can you turn the page for me? Please? “
@RestlessJim Asking to read aloud would also be torture. 😂
@echobit my favorite part of this is the "??" on the sign 😆
