Cats and dogs are predators.
Predators have to spend energy to get energy, and if things go even slightly wrong, they end up in a downward spiral that results in starving to death.
So they sleep frequently to conserve energy.
Primates eat all or mostly plants so we don't have to deal with that bullsh*t.
