Aatif@aaiqbal it was an oblong ceramic dish (8x20cm), with a brass rod protruding from the center (approx 5cm). On the top of the rod was a flexible metal cuff, mounted so that a candle can be placed horizontally, with either end suspended above the dish.

@donni if you find the exact middle of the candle, run a needle through it, then balance it on something so that it’s free to seesaw, it’s rather beautiful. The wax doesn’t burn evenly, see. One end will burn brighter for a while until it becomes lighter than the other end, then the process repeats.
This is how you do it right.

Fin again@donni Thank you, I too needed to hear this. I remember seeing “clock candles” that alert you when it’s time to stop. Someone described them as a way to tell guests it was time to depart, but I’m just realizing I need alerts to tell me to stop activities rather than when to start them.
