The stereotype of older people being very right wing and pro-Brexit may well be partly true... but please be aware that MANY of us #Over60-s are #ProEU and want to #RejoinEU and #GTTO (or #GTFTO)
@stevechampion made me sock to the pit of my stomach when Truss/Sunak were in fighting. Average Tory member 57, white, male living in SE England. I hit 3 but East Midlands. Thankfully I could never give them my support
@stevechampion 73. Here and hate people stating that they know how I vote and support. Lib Dem since reaching 71 and voted remain in BOTH referenda. Many of those who voted Remain in first one are the pensioners. How about best out of three referenda
@weaniejeanie53@stevechampion same. My children still have trouble processing that. We go against the grain, apparently. Something I'm actually quite proud of, oddly.
@stevechampion my 91 year old Dad and 89 year old Mum are staunch remainers and Labour Party members they’re embarrassed by a lot of their friends who have slid to the right, thankfully they have stayed both kind and empathic with their political views
@stevechampion I remembered what it was like before we asked to join the EU and the benefits we enjoyed afterwards I couldn't understand why anyone from my age group would want to go back to the bad old days They have denied our younger generation so much I lost friends who thought I was scaremongering
@stevechampion Or in my case, a sixty something woman who remembers watching the war on the six o’clock news, hearing about Kent State’s students in school, and grew up never trusting anyone over 30. We are not all the same.
@nather1959 Ha! We need to have a Brexity Fool amnesty, just like when they collect knives or guns. If they own up, we promise we will not keep saying "I told you so"!
