like, I've powercycled it a bunch, but it turns out it's not talking to the network, and it also won't let me run calibration or print a test page. it's like I'm locking up the firmware

@Foone soooo, I've been an IT guy for a long time, and printers are one of the things that the mere mention can cause me to immediately throw whatever I'm holding as a distraction while I make a run for the nearest fire exit. The only other things to come close are Java and RECMOD.

Look for old spooler files in
c:\windows\system32\spool\printers. This folder should be empty, when there are no print jobs in the queue, but sometimes they are not deleted. You will have to stop the printer spooler service to delete any old files in this folder.
