ok, so how's this place working out for everyone?
@tomtomorrow Fine, just got your latest strip on Patreon πŸ™‚
@tomtomorrow I have 3 followers so I am very excited. My goal is to have 4 by new years.
@tomtomorrow nice and polite. Not many (any?) trolls. And no ads πŸ‘πŸΌ
@tomtomorrow Some growing pains, mostly during signup waves. Otherwise it's been surprisingly solid despite the massive influx of people.
@tomtomorrow I'm pretty happy. I think you get what you put in with mastodon.
@tomtomorrow I'm pretty good with it thus far.
@tomtomorrow Sometimes I forget it's not the other place, especially when crossposted toots have me toggling back & forth. I keep the lights dim in both places so they look similar.

@tomtomorrow

Love it. It's a great community.

It'll be better when cities and states set up an instance for govt agencies.

Same for news agencies but that's starting to happen already.

@tomtomorrow Enjoying it so far. Like moving to a new town.
@tomtomorrow it's working out great for me. Might not be so great for people who are accustomed to lots of viral attention, though.
@tomtomorrow Personally, I find the lack of toxic content very refreshing. Reminds me a lot of the carefree childhood days of the birdsite.
@tomtomorrow no ads, no algorithms, and no string puller behind the curtain.
@tomtomorrow early days but so far so good… just missing a lot of my news/info feed from other place
@tomtomorrow Feels like old times here for me, except instead of Gab trying to take over and ruin everything, Twitter's committing suicide and making Mastodon great for once. I found my beloved weirdos from '18 again.
@tomtomorrow so far so good. (Roger β€œevil_potato” Long from the bird)
@tomtomorrow It’s… meh. Without the news orgs and major institutions, it’s still not doing the job. It’s got potential - but now I need to be in two places, which is actually worse.
@tomtomorrow Other than the bumpy start from everyone migrating at once, pretty good, man.
@tomtomorrow So far, so good
@tomtomorrow So much better than Twitter. Smart technology choices that make the conversations better
@tomtomorrow Extremely well so far. The only accounts I’m really missing following are some of the Victorian history ones, but there are alternatives. Technical problems have been limited to slowdowns due to overloading.
@tomtomorrow Pretty well. Waiting for a handful of birdfollows to move over--mainly certain working journalists who converse rather than promote--before making it primary. Also still trying to find a UI that fits my preferences. All expected.
@tomtomorrow one of the things I like most is the ability to scale my level of involvement. I can throttle down to just my main area of interest or I can drink from the firehouse of everything.

@tomtomorrow

pretty good so far.

Very heartening to see so many accounts I was following on the bird site.

@tomtomorrow I’m rather enjoying it. The slower pace has dampened that urge to constantly check, refresh, scroll, refresh to infinity. My brain feels healthier.
@tomtomorrow much quieter, just jumped in myself.
@tomtomorrow
People are showing up here slowly. It doesn't help that the explosive user community growth is overwhelming the network of servers, though.
@tomtomorrow every day here is honestly a little better than the day before it, mastodon might actually be a decent replacement
@FLEABttn @tomtomorrow That’s about what I would say. I’m getting it.
@tomtomorrow I'm using the Android app and it seems fine. We need more people to jump over to gain critical mass... I can't imagine a scenario in which I go back to Twitter.
@tomtomorrow So far pretty good. Especially now that actual activity is way up--I feel like I've got something to show up for every day now.
@tomtomorrow SO far so good. The hate here seems to be limited to two men, who shall not be mentioned.
Glad to have found you here.
@tomtomorrow Stressing out over the politics here. Journa.host, the reason I initially jumped here from Twitter, is having it’s users messages are blocked from view by many other Mastodon servers. Have had others boost messages that their server was moderated poorly, but how do you find that info out when Mastodon users are so anti-search (except for hashtags)
@tomtomorrow I made the switch a couple of weeks ago and I am glad I did. I miss my lists on the other site but I find hashtags can produce similar results. The attitude and tone here seems much more positive.
@tomtomorrow pretty godd. First day here. Glad to see you here. πŸ‘
@tomtomorrow I don't really get how it all works but I also don't have to read posts from Elon begging for attention from Trump, so about even, I guess.

@tomtomorrow

So far so good! My instance's server went down last night and just now came back up. But while annoying, certainly something that is bearable. Local admin provided updates on the bird site and the sister instance to mine so communication was maintained.

@tomtomorrow Has been quite OK to me! I can boost messages without overwhelming fear of hitting a TERF.
@tomtomorrow Nice to see you here! I'm a multi-year subscriber to your newsletter

@tomtomorrow I love it so far!! Wrote about it a bit here:

Mastodon Is Not Too Hard!!

@tomtomorrow

I like it quite a bit. Way less teeth grinding than birdland.

@tomtomorrow now that you're here, Mastodon has a Tomorrow. Twitter, soon will not have a tomorrow.
