As a Mastodon newbie, I’ve noticed that about half of the introductions have sophisticated and varied interests…something like…I am interested in neural pathways, and transnational information exchange, and cultural hegemony. Meanwhile, the other half of us are more…well, I like TV and games and sitting on the couch. 😊
My pretty basic list of likes are: #Fiction, #80sMusic, #CollegeSports, #DogsofMastodon, #Wine, #CookingShows, #Jazz, and all things #NewOrleans. I also always #VoteBlue
@Nevertheless_she Ooh wine. I forgot to add wine to mine. I'm looking forward to starting my wine adventure calendar Dec 1. (Not xian but I love all the little bottles of a variety of wines; I pick one out every morning (or actually the night before) and cook dinner to pair with it.)
@Nevertheless_she My first few days here, I was overwhelmed by the truly brilliant, accomplished people. Felt as if I were dumbing down the place. 🤣 But the conversation is stimulating. I really enjoy the things I've learned. It's mind-expanding. And in reality, they're just like us. Now, back to #collegefootball and #novels and #wine. 🤗

@Nevertheless_she

Part of why, as a random "boring" person, I don't bother with introductions.

That, and, unless the person reading your intro follows less than *maybe* 200 people, an intro is unlikely to "stick" for them.

I figure that if people actually want to know who I am, they can click on my profile and probably get a better idea through my posts' contents – such as this one – than a self-summary.
