Are you #ActuallyAutistic? Let me know so I can give you a follow.
@amberlynwhite Hi Amberlyn, I am trying to find #ActuallyAutistic people on here. Have followed you.
I love cats and gardening as well as finding out more about #autism.
@MarmadukeCWest Pleasure to meet you, Wendy! I have returned the follow and have to say that I too love cats- Iโ€™ve got 3. I am looking forward to seeing you on my timeline now that we have a mutual following.

@MarmadukeCWest @amberlynwhite

Hi! Maybe you know this already, but maybe some people don't so...

If you click on the #ActuallyAutistic #hashtag, it opens in a new column (on the desktop app, at least. Not sure about phone/other apps).

That will allow you to #lurk on ActuallyAutistic posts here, locate people who interest you, and decide exactly who you want to follow/contact/curate.

Following @actuallyautistic also offers the same #lurking opportunities.

#HTH!

@amberlynwhite I am! See also the group @actuallyautistic
Welp that boost wasn't supposed to happen
@amberlynwhite I'm not autistic but my wife is, if she joins I'll point her your way
@MrAmaimon thank you kindly! We would love to welcome her as well.
@amberlynwhite this could be the only social site she'll feel welcome to be herself
@amberlynwhite definitely ND, my diagnosed Autistic 17 yr old son keeps telling me I am autistic but currently Iโ€™m suffering from imposter syndrome ๐Ÿ˜‚
@Jenfeds1073 I completely understand how you feel. Thatโ€™s something I struggled with for a long time. If you donโ€™t mind me sharing, a tip that really helped me was to make a list of all the times I struggled before I knew what the words Autismโ€™ or โ€˜Neurodiverseโ€™ were. Thereโ€™s no way you could have been doing anything but behaving the way your brain meant you to at that time. Youโ€™re not an imposter and your struggles before you learned about neurodivergence can help validate that. ๐Ÿ’œ
@amberlynwhite thank you.
I think one of the best things Iโ€™ve heard is that NT people donโ€™t wonder if they are autistic.
I just donโ€™t want to take away from people who struggle much more than I
@Jenfeds1073 I understand where youโ€™re coming from with that as well. Though I do want to remind you that itโ€™s completely okay to take what you need from life and what that looks for you may look different for someone else, as long as itโ€™s serving your mental health and life positively.
@amberlynwhite I am not, but my 17 year old son is, my 28 year old son is and my father is even if for years the only way it could be explained is โ€œMy dadโ€™s an engineer.โ€ I like to follow people who are ND or ASD to get tips and ideas and more understanding about how to help them move through this world. The older child did 6 years in the army as an air traffic controller. The younger is getting ready to graduate. Other peopleโ€™s experiences really help me on my hard days.
