The volatility of mass-opinions has been amplified by modern media, making a one-shot election ridiculous. Just like measuring the temperature in Belgium on one random day is a poor estimator of Belgian average temperature.
So, increase the time-resolution! One idea: Why do we all vote on the same day? Just give a fraction of the people a ballot every month.

Skyssx@guyverhofstadt Sure, but they're stuck on the outside now. If they were allowed back into the EU they'd just start bitching and demanding all sorts of special carveouts again. Too easy for the EU to just say "no thanks" for a generation or more.

We might have moved here but we were still British citizens by birth with UK passports - We never surrendered this birth RIGHT and when we moved to the EU all our rights were in tact ..What sort of DEMOCRACY denies the people that the result affects the most, the legal right to vote on it... The Referendum in itself wasn't legal or fit for purpose.

The "special rebate" that Thatcher negotiated is neither here nor there anymore. If we can splash £400bn on Covid we can pay a few £bn extra to be in a club that makes everyone better off.

Newsboy@guyverhofstadt Labour MPs close down any Brexit debate. They won’t even discuss if Brexit is a factor in our economic decline and rule out any future plan of joining the CU and SM, let alone full membership of the EU. Very many of us are political homeless, but we will be forced to vote Labour due to our unfair FPTP system. Labour will then accept those votes as a mandate from the voters to remain outside of the EU. We need to organise ourselves. “The clock is ticking”.
@guyverhofstadt politicians have no active memory of anything when questioned. Why not rip up the no deal deal and get back to normal?
