Today I cycled into Gloucester from Abbeymead, starting at the same time as a driving instructor. We arrived in a pre-arranged car park at exactly the same time. Cycling in a city is an efficient way to get about.

The amount increases with vehicle weight; so electric vehicles with heavy batteries will makes this worse.
Maybe replacement of all internal combustion engines with electric powered motors is not the solution...

After close passing me so he could get to the traffic queue before me, a driver suggested I get a car like a ‘normal person’. He didn’t look normal to me, but very angry. I asked if he was jealous so he revved his little engine to drown me out. I think he may have been compensating for something.
