RB Lemberg

Hi folks, this is my official #introduction!

I'm R.B. Lemberg, a #queer, #nonbinary author of fiction and poetry set in my #lgbtqia-centric #fantasy world, Birdverse. My work has been a finalist for the #Nebula, #Worldfantasy, #Locus , #Ignyte, +other awards.

I'm an #immigrant from #Ukraine now living in KS. I'm married to the amazing @bogiperson. We have a teen, Mati :) We are all #neurodivergent!

In my daily life I'm a #linguist. I am interested in #Jewish stuff, #fountainpens and #trees.

@rblemberg that's the exact Sport I have! The color is so beautiful, and I love that it catches on the paper slightly as it writes. The Metropolitan fine nib is... fine  but the medium writes much better

I’m learning Ukrainian on duo lingo. Not sure if you speak Russian or Ukrainian.

I learned Russian in the US Army and am using it a lot these days with Ukrainians here in Ireland. It’s a strange time we live in.

@MKMartin @bogiperson Здравствуйте, Мартин! Я говорю и по-русски, и по-украински :) I came to the US 20 years ago, it was a different time. I translate a lot from Ukrainian those days. I'll be posting about some of my translations soon. It is a strange and difficult time.

@rblemberg @bogiperson I can imagine it must be!

We were scrabbling at my kid’s primary school to find resources for the Ukrainian students who started arriving in the spring. Even simple things like signs for the toilets.

It’s better now, but still not great support IMO.

The Irish government means well, but there was already a housing crisis here so a lot of refugees end up stuck in hotels or worse for months.

@rblemberg Fountain pens! I, too, am a pen person, but didn't have room in my intro post to add the hashtag. Pens pens pens! Never jumped on the Kaweco train myself, but I'm a firm fan of the Wing Sung 601.
