I am so happy to find the thriving #actuallyautistic community here.

I am still trying to figure out how to find the #neurodivergent #parenting folks including #parents with #autistic #kids and ESPECIALLY any place where autistic folks are open to engaging with parents who are maybe closer to #neurotypical and keen to listen and learn from autistic adults/elders.

Suggestions welcome, including “please don’t do that”.

@awsamuel if only all Autistic people didn't get neutered on their 13th birthday there would be a thriving community of #ActuallyAutistic parents as well.

@sparkes You are right, I should have been more explicit that the #actuallyautistic folks I learn from include many autistic parents (including my own).

@sparkes One thing I have learned from the #actuallyautistic community is not to take offense at people being super direct!

I just wish I could apply that to how I react to my mom’s super directness. She still pushes my buttons….but then, she MADE my buttons.
