Here’s the good news: I think we have at least 6 months before your boss finds this place.
@rwidome And may 9 months before brands and politicians figure out how the heck they’re supposed to work it
@inthehands @rwidome My boss is still mastering Facebook.
@rwidome And lots of other people.
@rwidome Too late! I am my boss! And I'm giving myself a raise for finding this place!
@joehumphrey @rwidome my boss is a slave driver (self employed)
@rwidome even better is my boss will never find it 👍
@rwidome how long before my mom follows me
@originalspin @rwidome quick, change your name on here so she can't find you lol
@smollestbunny @rwidome is that why you’re named “hiding from plagues”? 😂
@rwidome I have around a year before my mum finds it! 😂
@rwidome @kwf They need to wait for the next Gartner Magic Quadrant.
@rwidome Glad I'm my own boss in both Mastodon and in my company.
@rwidome I am afraid my boss @doebeli was here already before me. 🤣
@rwidome laughing heartily and checking to see whether he’s here yet 😂
@rwidome the years before the bosses (and senior academics) found Twitter were so much more enjoyable!
@rwidome Hilarious! Definitely a bit of a frewfraw when the bosses find one’s Bird app commentary.
@rwidome The attention span required during the learning curve would be too discouraging and he would just wind up on reddit.
@rwidome or you parents…. And then will have find an even more obscure place to chat with abject strangers 😂
@rwidome My boss knows about this place and will probably be here in less than 6 months. 😅
@zalasur @rwidome Yeah, I just told mine about it with a quick rundown how to get on a good instance.

@rwidome Well then…

If my boss is reading this: I quit.

@AngryKruk @rwidome True story: I once quit a job by leaving a message for my boss on *my* answering machine.
@rwidome I told my boss about it last week, now that so much of the swarm formerly known as Legal Twitter is on here :)
@rwidome at is the next move after 6 months??!? Do we have a plan?
@rwidome I've heard the block function works really well around here...

@rwidome When I was the first social software analyst at IDC back in ~2007 I started a blog and got on Twitter (against the rules of my employment contract) and no one discovered either for months. When they did, it was my blog and I got a hand slap but I don’t think they ever figured out about Twitter while I was there. Made me chuckle.

Now, of course, almost all analysts are on social media.

@rwidome Personally, this is not something I worry about. They know I'm weird outside of the office, especially on TikTok (too many followers to be ignored and something I know a few of my coworkers are aware of), but if you stay congenial and professional, you're usually okay. Plus, I'm a dependable joke machine. Although I once got a gentle drubbing for sending a fairly harmless pun-laced email.
@rwidome Nah, one of the directors from my company found me here within hours.

@rwidome

Also, there is no need to use your REAL name here.

I could be Jimmy Carter in disguise… or maybe not, he is a better woodworker than me.
