Will StancilI’m trying to follow along here, I really am, but I’m finding the lack of a good quote-tweet equivalent sort of suffocating. It feels like people talking to themselves, every post just a pronouncement into thin air. The thing that gave Twitter spark was the social element. Without a good way to build on (or criticize) a person’s ideas a lot of that is lost and it feels more like a strange blogging platform.

Wondering why your timeline is full of people saying they have COVID, but you're not hearing about high COVID spread on the news? We are massively undercounting COVID cases (by up to 25x) because everyone is doing home tests.
Senior faculty have enormous power in the academy and... this department/college/school/etc. that you are in or interact with is the world they have chosen to create. They actively maintain it daily with decisions and actions that are both large and small.
