@ferds Managed to reach the farlands of my domain so, you're going pretty far! (My server just found a new world, poor thing)

@ferds Joined back in 2018. Recent expat from mastodon.technology

Really happy to see the influx of new users.

#Mastodon  #fosstodon

@ferds I’ve been around since April but my usage has definitely increased in the past month.
@ferds I said yes but I believe I created my account on another server a while ago but never used it. Then when you know what happened, I came here and migrated to my current instance and now I'm here
@ferds Can I ask for clarification on "here"? I've signed up in 2019, but depending on your threshold of whether I'm here... uhh...
@ferds I’m new & have no idea what I’m doing or where I am! Haha! 🙋‍♀️🤦‍♀️😆💙
@ferds Stood my instance back up after a couple years gone.
@ferds Been on fedi for 5 years now
@ferds New to this instance but not new to mastodon for sure.
@ferds I'm a few days in. Super noob.
@ferds I have had a membership for a number of months but haven't used it much until the last couple of weeks. Voted no, though.
@ferds I joined in November, 2016. Some even must have spurred me in this direction.
@ferds just made my account today. although, i had heard of mastodon probably not long after it was started - but i only just now decided to check it out.

@ferds No*

* I've been on here for a few years but stopped really paying attention until the mess with birdsite happened, so I might as well be new again.

@ferds Define "here". This instance? Just days. The Fediverse? Months.
@ferds both yes and no? just moved from my old one
@ferds heh, made the mark by just a few days
@ferds What if I set up the account three years ago but only started using it last week?
@ferds I started using it actively with Twitter's implosion, but made my first account in 2017 (but never really used it).
@ferds ish. Registered years back. Reactivated recently.
@ferds I’m technically not new as I created an account when the birdsite’s new owner started making noises, but I’ve only really become active in the last few weeks.
@ferds was here in 2018, new account in recent weeks. Mastodon has waves of users, this one is the biggest yet.
People won't stop using a site until it's impossible to use, that tipping point might be coming with the Birdsite, but the barriers to entry here are still too high for many.

@ferds Actually it depends on the definition of 'here' for me 😆 I was on mastodon.technology for a year or so, then moved to a friend's server when .tech closed last month.

At least the migration tools work, I guess!

@ferds Thank you for making the poll. I'm relatively new: I made this account back when Elon announced he was buying Twitter. Several other friends of mine have had accounts for a while but have only just started using them.
@ferds absolutely fresh and new to this. Trying to get a general feel for the engagement and reach. It’s definitely not birdapp.
@ferds I *feel* new, but first signed up on 27 April, 2022. There weren't, at that time, enough variety of people I like to follow so a little quiet and thus I stayed mostly on twitter, only popping in on occasion. Have recently returned to Mastodon and since deactivated my twitter account.
@ferds I chose yes, even though I came in 2018, because I never did anything until the Twitter debacle.
@ferds I an new to Mastodon, even if I still don't know where I am right now.
@ferds So that's about 3,962 people new, 1618 not.
@ferds I joined like 3 years ago, didn't really get into it, then migrated my account from social to art in april on a whim. Only started using this frequently in the past month.
@ferds I just joined Mastodon on 8th November 2022. I am new, fresh from the farm.
@ferds I joined a year or so ago, but have been ramping up my usage in the last six or so months.
@ferds (THIS account is new, for following FLOSS-ie refugees, but i've had @n1vux for over a year to explore.)
