As folks who’ve followed me for a while know, 2022 has been A Year for me and my family.

This summer my family went through something that… is a long story, I’ll summarize with “it was safe enough that we moved back into our home”.

And then a month ago, I was laid off from Microsoft, after spending most of the last 24y working there. Another long, weird story.

But now, the good news: this week I accepted an offer for a role back at Microsoft, working on Excel, which I am VERY excited about.

I have to say, there’s some pretty great #Microsoft #Excel #memes out there already. Nice work, folks.
@Kclemson Maybe you can help sponsor... "BALLMERCON 2023: Excel eSports"!

@kurtsh that came up in my interviews and I was absolutely fascinated that such a thing exists
@Kclemson Been following FMWC before it was cool! They were also on ESPN3, y'know? 😁 https://www.espn.com/watch/player/_/id/7ee1f7a2-05d8-40dd-8af2-8e7334151844 #excelesports

@Kclemson semi related: I’ve been thinking for a while that I need a “pivot table evangelist” t-shirt.
@Kclemson If I worked on Excel, this would be my daily drinker. Also, I ported the Kelly Rowland meme to Surface :)
@Lee_Holmes what Surface is that?
@tunedlooplabs That's the original Surface Duo. Still haven't gotten a response to that text though :(
@Lee_Holmes well, I may be wrong but try with a "=CALLBACK(...)" at the beginning 😂
@Kclemson I hope you bring texting to excel to literally recreate the Kelly Rowland video
@Kclemson congratulations.. glad to see you are staying with us.
@Kclemson congratulations!! Welcome back.
@Kclemson I cannot say how happy this makes me feel. Welcome back!!!!
@larryosterman it was so weird to have lunch with you the other day and not know if I’d be back. I’m so glad this role worked out, I wasn’t ready to be done w msft.
@Kclemson Great to hear you're going to contribute your talents to the most useful product ever :).
@Jameslew RIGHT?? I babbled to every one of my interviewers that for the last 20+ years, I have told others that Excel is my favorite Microsoft product. I’ve used it since I was a kid. Now… to be able to *work* on it? It’s a dream.
@Kclemson I am so happy for you!!! Looking forward to having you back in the GAL and in Teams.
@Kclemson you will excel! Very happy to have you back.
@Kclemson Glad to see you back! I remember working with you on a hackathon project and was sad to see the layoff.
