@mathewi @adamdavidson @JamesGleick @joshtpm @konomikitten i thought the idea of a content warning was a little ❄️-ish at first BUT now I sort of love it. Like… it’s on ME (the content sharer) to be compassionate about the preferences/needs of others … and to put safeguards around things that others might not feel comfortable with.
It’s not that hard… and it changes how you think about your role as part of a community.❤️

@captain @adamdavidson @joshtpm @dannagal @JamesGleick and this is why I'm not in favour of content warnings most people don't get them, and that's not me having a go at @mathewi a lot of people don't grasp the concept.
Content Warnings are for you to tag "upsetting" material your post may contain so people who do not wish to read such content can skip over it.
And what one person might consider upsetting another may not, it's a mess, this is why I prefer the content filter idea instead.
Seems possible excessive use of C.W.s might do more harm than good, by reinforcing cognitive distortions about the dangerousness of certain words and thoughts.
