Right, I've got enough followers to federate an #introduction post reasonably widely now.

I'm Richard. I've been a #LibDem since the #LibDems party was founded (1988), have been a candidate for #Parliament three times, have run more internal elections than I can count and am a serious #policy nerd - I was on my first policy working group in 1995

I'm an Old #Internet Person, as the wonderful "Because Internet" described us - I was on usenet before September 1993, have been on everything since.

Yes, I was on geocities. webforums too. LiveJournal. I still have a Dreamwidth account and a Tumblr. I missed Friendster, but not MySpace. Twitter in the first year. I still use RSS to read lots of things. But #fediverse feels so much like home - it has many of the good things about the new post-Facebook/Twitter internet and many of the best of the old usenet/webforums/IRC era too.

I'm a #MUFC fan, but I mostly go to the #WSL games these days, as men's football has put me off a bit.

I live in #Manchester, am a #sf fan and have been to #Worldcon three times (all in Europe, for #disability reasons, I can't fly in economy class and can't afford to fly in business class).

I'm a #train nerd and a general public transport nerd; I go on holiday all over Europe by train - it's fun to take two days to get somewhere.

Oh yeah, I'm a bisexual cis man, who uses he/him/his pronouns, and there were 328.13 ppm CO₂ when I was born. Can we get back to those levels, please?

(and now the unpinned bit): I'm a #Windows nerd. Yes, we exist. Yes, I can fix your grandma's computer. No, I'm not going to. [Sorry, but I only do that for love or money, and I already spend enough of my hours earning money; if I love you that much, you'd know already]

Yes, I know (x) about Linux. I don't care: Windows is my home OS the way Linux is yours. I'm not unlearning 20 years of habits and deep knowledge.

Oh and I am not a #werelabradoodle in spite of what my header pic may indicate.

Also, and I forgot this when I first posted:
