What's the video game from when you were a kid (or kid-like) that's most fun to play today?
@pamela For me it's mostly Super Nintendo games. Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country are probably my favorites.
@pamela
I loved X-Com a lot.
MULE I think. (It's actually been years since I've played it now so that might disqualify)
@pamela Morrowind, definitely, I've played it hundreds of hours as a kid, it's had a huge impact on me and yet I'm still fascinated but the universe (there's a reason why my main domain is umbriel.fr, and I don't care much about astronomy).
@pamela
I find Golden Sun 1 & 2 still very enjoyable :)
@pamela I still have a soft spot for Super Mario Bros 3.
@gnomon That's because it's still a great game.

@pamela Still a sucker for Wolfenstein 3D & Doom (the DOS versions), and a lot of the the 2d shareware games: Commander Keen, Jill of the Jungle, Duke Nukem 2d, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, etc.

Also, Scorched Earth/Worms and the real-time counterpart "Liero" (an open-source iteration may be available in repos)

Stretching back a bit further, I still get a kick out of playing "Lode Runner" and "Knights of Legend"

@pamela SMB3, SMW. Oh the hours spent playing those.

I had them on NES/SNES. Our SNES came with All Stars + World cart, so I played both there. Bought them for GBA. Bought them for Wii. Bought them for 3DS. Play them on my Switch.

Except for the years when I played almost nothing but my N64/GameCube and PC games, I've never not played the classic Marios.

@pamela Probably Double Dragon II on the NES. Right up until that damn jumping level with the spikes.
@pamela Moonstone - A hard day's Knight for Amiga. There's a PC version as well. Best played with friends!
