Ok folks, we’re going wizard-mode this summer:

I’m talking staves.
I’m talking hooded cloaks.

We’re studying loose sheaves of documents for the answers to deep mysteries.
We’re brewing alchemical potions.
We’re mastering the tongues of distant lands.
We’re smoking pipe weed from comedically long-stemmed pipes.

Kurt just said Achilles' shield sounds like a dwarf fortress item and damned if he isn't right

This is a bronze shield. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encircled with bands of bronze, gold, tin, silver, and electrum...

Pamela: whatcha air frying?
Kurt: Nuffin
Pamela: huh. that doesn't sound right
Kurt: Seekrit

later he came out and handed me a plate of chili rice and when I put my spoon into it there was a burger patty inside XD

@checkervest I saw this meme on bsky yesterday
It is absolutely the funniest thing imaginable that Frank Herbert wrote a book about how you should never trust charismatic messianic leaders and how people like Paul are the bad guys and the hero’s journey is bullshit and he got so incensed when everyone said “wow! Paul!! What a great hero!!” that he immediately wrote a second book calling them all dumbasses
so like do you not need reading glasses as young if you dissociate and stare off into the distance a lot, or
goo morning
husband has provided with a fresh bag of rice
every meal is rice
so like
back in the 70s
if you were listening to the radio, did they actually PLAY Jim Steinman doing the whole "On a hot summer night..." spoken word bit?

Not "Atlassian laid off 1,600 people, 10% of its workforce"

But rather: "Atlassian leadership, with 300,000+ paying customers & ~5.2 billion USD in revenue & 6+ billion USD in assets in 2025, failed to line up their financial projections with their own staffing projections, and acted to place the burden of this gap on their direct reports rather than leadership, executive compensation packages, assets, or shareholders"

Layoffs should be personally mortifying. Boards should change.

For shame.

I managed to cook a big breakfast today and have just been lying here ever since AMA (but I'll prolly ignore it because I'm just lying here)
