Someday it'll be an offline MMO for those with busy lives who want to text sweet nothings to their player character. Someday.

I watched ZPG when I was a kid in the 1970s, and the scene in the โlibraryโ has stayed with me. Indeed, I became a #Librarian. (A seed planted?).
Not a great movie, but, in todayโs context, the library scene is worth watching. Decades ago I showed it at a conference, trying to make the point that information literacy counts for nothing if the state controls knowledge.
I see so many of the world's problems where the underlying cause is overpopulation. The planet's resources are stretched WAY beyond capacities.
When I was younger there was a Zero Population Growth (ZPG) movement. I have no idea why that went away.

A shrinking population is a good thing according to Scientific American.
About a year ago I remember reading that the survivors of the black plague otherwise doomed to extreme poverty got much better wages, land, homes, and for the first times in their lives could eat things other than bread.
