Clearly No Adult In Charge Of WordPress
WP Engine, who is in a prolonged legal battled with WordPress.org and Automattic over trademark and other legal matters bought a plug-in today. Congrats to them.
But then in response to this the WordPress.org X/Twitter account called WPE a parasite.
This was obviously Matt Mullenweg misusing his control over the non-profit/open source WordPress project to throw arrows and just be a total clown.
Iβm not going to mince words here. The leadership (ahem Matt Mullenweg) is not right in the head. And heβs taking the WordPress project down with him. Which is a real shame, because the WordPress community on the whole is fantastic. But to outsiders they just see Matt acting erratic and, well, small.
Clearly there are no adults in the decision room at WP HQ. Where is Mary Hubbard the Executive Director of the WordPress project in all this? You know where? No where!
Something needs to be done. But nothing probably will.
This is just depressing. Full stop.
