Numerous posters entreating visitors to think about their health or follow NHS guidelines adorn the walls in place of any #art.
Very few of the posters are designed for viewing from any distance and contain large blocks of overwhelming text. None of the posters provide links or QR codes to further information.

**Chairs**
Chairs provide limed padding and have unhelpfully narrow spacing. The arm rests are rock hard. There is limited contouring to make long periods sat down comforatble. Chairs only come in depressing black.

**Light**
Three dusty windows overlooking a concrete courtyard are provided. Thankfully they open — providing some fresh air.
The placement of the windows only at one end of the room makes the room feel strangely lopsided.
The fluorescent light fittings are covered with yellowed plastic creating a mottled pattern of cold and warm light. No lighting designers where consolted in the creation of this room.

**Snack Provision**
Three canary yellow, vending machines are provided. They feature a modern design, including simplified vending mechanics — tap your card, open the door and get charged for what you take.
Following tradition they were out of stock and the hot drinks machine was missing cups.
Great potential, sadly unmet. A tea or coffee would delight during a long stay.

**Infographic quality**
Informative infographics details the patient path through the department with helpful clarity. However, it fails to consistently understand the distance of the viewer. Generally the font and graphic size is too small — the best place to view it is standing 1m away. Which would place one at the feet of people seated below. Which would be considered socially awkward. There is far too much empty space on the 3m x 1m sign.

**Decor**
Featuring classic NHS beige walls, highlighted with plastic buffers to prevent damage. The designer has specified Tamagotchi Turquoise for the buffers, to bring a splash of colour to the room. The floor is a delightful green, reminiscent of a marbled Pompeii temple floor in linoleum. Some may argue it should have remained buried, but it ties in the colour palette from the buffers. There is a regrettable lack of art.
