I used to emphasize it this way:

"There's #whacks, #backwhacks, #whack_whacks, and #doublebackwhacks, but there's no such thing as a *'forward slash'*."

And another point of fact is that, in Ham Radio, a Slash, is also called a *"mark"*. Therefore, /e/ is pronounced, Marky Mark.
