In the #hungergames , I represent district 5. #antiwar is not #peace. We #offer no #surrender, no #forgiveness. #america's troops need to bring the #war home. I'm going to focus on the #positive and the #compassionate in #politics this year, I think. I'm going to #volunteer for my really good state assembly rep, I'm reading stuff Paul #Wellstone wrote and stuff about him, I'm going to read some of what Jimmy #Carter has written. I need to refill my heart.

I welcome suggestions of things I should read, watch, listen to, wallow in.

#Republicans have always been eager to send other people's kids to #war and then pretend not to notice when they return with severe #disabilities or in coffins. The most steadfast defender of #veterans was Senator Paul #Wellstone, a liberal Democrat. His was also the loudest voice against sending troops to #Iraq after 9/11. His voice was silenced in 2002 when he and his wife died in a plane crash.
