I've been reading about recorded cases of apparent #viviparity or #ovoviviparity in #Lepidoptera. I once found a moth with larvae in the abdomen, but I assumed it was a defect or the result of an infection.

In 1863, Scott wrote a fascinating paper on this, including a rearing attempt:
