#HomeAssistant is amazing. I’ve now got cameras all over my house and whenever my wife or I are home, Home Assistant turns off the smart outlets they’re plugged into.

When we both leave, Home Assistant will monitor them using #Viseron over #MQTT for a person, and notify us, turn on all the lights, and turn on the cameras’ sirens if it sees someone.

I feel like having this much control over smart home devices is illegal or something.

Interacted with some #openZiti folks over the past few days, to get some help with integrating #zeroTrust principles with #freeSoftware camera surveillance applications ( @zoneminder #moonfireNVR #viseron ) for my thesis.

It's a big bagel to wrap my head around, but I think I can do it

For my second thesis; I'll wow you with:

- a #pihole-like box wired to your router, connecting all surveillance cameras on your farm exclusively to...
- a local install of #viseron, #zoneminder or #frigate, with #RT_DETR powered accelerated detection of predators...
- using #MQTT to trigger a predator repel system (audio, lights)...
- with alerts, actions and media externally available via app/pwa...
- using #headscale or #nebula
