Lately I haven't been taking anything #running with me except my iPod video and some headphones. For the longest time, I was trying to use a stopwatch while I was running to track my pace, but I kept accidentally stopping it in the middle of the run. Today I figured out that I could just use #frigate on my #homeassistant instance to see when I got back to the house and calculate my total time from that.

@xabd I have read that you need substantial processing power to enable the object detection, ID and tracking in #Frigate . That makes sense, but it a means an RPi 4 is insufficient without a TPU co-processor. I’d like to use it but that is a showstopper for me due to cost, What is your experience with platform requirements for Frigate?

`nix flake update`, rebuild #Frigate container, CPU gets pegged at 90% forever. 4-5 months later, update again, rebuild container, CPU goes back down to 5-7%. Makes sense.

MotionEye (HA-addon) has become unreliable in recording video fies, it's pretty random if/when it records video, even when set to "continouus recording".
Going to try frigate, pulling it into TrueNAS directly now.
