Excited that the first planting of peas is up, and the Jersey Bennes (my Christmas potato spud of choice) are also showing their leaves above the peastraw! Next weekend is the local church annual plant sale so I’ll pick up my courgette plants and some lettuces… and who know what else I’ll be tempted by! #gardening #GardeningNZ #veges
Planted my Jersey Benne spuds for Christmas today, along with peas, carrot and beetroot seeds. Might be a touch early but I’m hoping not - excited to get my vege garden underway for summer eating 😊 #gardeningNZ #gardening #veges

Second cucumber of the season with more on the vine 🥒

The picked cucumber was warm to the touch when I took the photo, having just been outside in the 32C Christchurch temperature yesterday 🌞

@ashesid very satisfying!
All I could offer so far is a fresh bean or two - delicious though!

Last year I looked up why the flowers, then the beginnings of things (kamokamo, pumpkin, squash) kept starting to form and then fell off the vine... This year I feel better prepared and I know which flower is which

Any reason why I should wait for the rain to stop before I attempt to tie up my tomato plants??
