"Plaid Cymru’s Rhun ap Iorwerth paid tribute to Gething’s public service but said it was right for him to go. It was a matter of perception as much as getting at the truth. The loan looked wrong. As did deleting government WhatsApps. Just insisting everything was fine and there was nothing to see here didn’t cut it."
I think Vaughan Gething had to resign. Hopefully his successor will defend trans rights. Wales doesn’t need to follow England

#VaughanGething Resigns As #Welsh First Minister
#Wales 🏴
Labour's first scandal of the season, a hangover from the previous season.
#VaughanGething has offered his resignation as First Minister. Which leaves an interesting interregnum as he is a sort of caretaker leader (as I understand it) until the autumn https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cleyl8ln66et
Today's a sad day for #WelshPolitics.
I don't think #VaughanGething is a bad man, but he has shown himself to be a fool who, when confronted by his mistakes, doubles down rather than correcting them.
He's upset his MS's; He's upset his ministers; He's upset his predecessor by shelving/rolling back his policies;
and he's upset Plaid Cymru, who's support he required to govern.
Hopefully he can act as an example of what not to do and how not to behave.
#Wales is so poorly served by our media. With #VaughanGething about to be forced out after four of his Cabinet Members resigned, you'd expect BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru to break from scheduled programming to carry live reporting.
But no, everything's carrying on as normal. Wynne Bastard Evans talking shit and playing pop tunes, whilst Aled Hughes churns out folk classics.
We really need to take ourselves more seriously as a country.
