I've been seeing some posts admonishing some for taking the attitude that Trump voters are getting exactly what they voted for. This was about a woman who now "regrets" switching her vote from Harris to Trump at the last minute based on his false promise of free IVF.

Listen, if I'm going to be expected to feel compassion here, I have my own set of expectations. I expect people to act. Words of regret are worthless. Maybe next time, if there is a next time, don't vote for the felon.

Thinking of red states vs blue states is busted. Plenty of good visualizations of this over the years, but this election in particular feels really important to point out "We" did not chose this.

When I say we I mean US voters, but even less so citizens, and even less so again residents.

Maybe the government shouldn’t be allowed to buy information they’d otherwise need a warrant to obtain.

Or, information bought by governments which would otherwise need a warrant to obtain should be inadmissible in any prosecution.

Maybe tracking location using cell data by private companies should be prohibited entirely.

I am very progressive on gun safety policies, but also strongly believe in the Castle Doctrine and would also shoot someone if they broke into my home.

(If you’re unfamiliar, the Castle Doctrine provides that your home is your place of last retreat, so you are not obligated to flee further from a threat and can repel it with force.)

So #Harris is right up my alley on this one.
