Live between #Scotland and #Spain.

It's a social network so I might speak to you. I don't bite, unless you poke me with a stick. I've been elsewhere on the fediverse since Nov 2022. This is my new profile since Dec'24.

It's time to clip my trotters!

I've never been a nail-biter, which means that every few weeks I need to get the shears out and clip the trotters 😁

I tend to pay little attention to them, but there is always a day when I am suddenly aware of them. That day is today. As I type on the keyboard I can feel them clicking away, and that's the sign to get clipping.

From my blog post: forkingmad.blog/trotter-clipping-time; includes photo of said nails!

Why do people post spoilers?

Why do people feel the need to post spoilers and clues about daily puzzle games?

What do they hope to achieve? All it does is ruin someone else's fun as they now have more information than is required to complete the game.

I see it for so many online games, but let's just take Wordle as an example. It's very popular, and I have been enjoying it almost since day one. Long before Josh Wardle, creator, sold out to the New York Times.

Every day people post their results on social media. I enjoy that as I see how others have done in comparison to me. What I do not enjoy is when they also include a hint at a solution. WTAF?!

Good job. You've completed it. Well done. Pat on the back. But don't ruin it for others. It's not big, it's not clever, and it's mean.

Imagine if I'm telling you about a great book I've read. You're looking forward to reading it to. I then say, "you will love it, and it was so unusual to have the doctor involved in the crime".

If people really need a hint they can go looking on the internet. Don't put it in my face on socials.

My solution is basically to stop following the person. If I don't follow them but I've seen their post, perhaps via a share, I block them.

A blog I want to subscribe to via RSS needs to verify I am human. Here's a surprise ... an #RSS reader is NOT human, so I can't subscribe to your feed.
