Question: what is my 'Local' feed based on? The instance I used to join Mastodon/the fediverse or something else?
Also how do I discover which accounts to follow other than just searching for specific hashtags and/or accounts?

To search the posts of an account that i follow, i have two steps:
Fetch the exact handler from:
https://dotnet.social/relationships?order=active&page=1
https://mstdn.ca/relationships?order=active&page=1
https://mastodon.social/relationships?order=active&page=1
https://infosec.exchange/relationships?order=active&page=1
or similar
Type into the search box:
from:<handler> searchTerm

Twitterrific spoiled me. @Iconfactory made Twitter accessible, customizable, relevant, and useful. Twitter didn’t do any of that.
That’s why I think I struggle here, or any orher SM platform
I can’t remember how you create/manage hashtags you use (or want to use) often. Was that on the site?
Anywoo—finally learned how to make a post (toot?) be hidden behind a “Content Warning” :WHILE: I was making this post.
I’ve only ever seen folks use it for spoilers or the like, not that it’s actually sensitive or inappropriate for professional environments.
Shout out to @Luke for helping me discover folks I’ve followed on feathered freeware and/or should be following here.
Thank you, good sir!
Just learned about Featured Hashtags on mastodon.
I like this type of categorization feature as it could help me better curate my posts.
It occurs to me that instances could be an AMAZING way to create communities solely for special interests too. I know the Mastodon model is supposed to be about one account, multiple themes and topics, post everything under one name but from hanging out here, especially using Tusky, it almost seems to me to be intuitively designed for multiple connected accounts, especially given how easy Tusky makes it to pop back and forth between accounts.
Please note
"Don’t use badges next to your name. Because no one owns the Fediverse, there is no central authority to give out “verified” badges the way Twitter etc do. If you do see any Twitter-style verified badges these are just custom emoji and don’t mean anything, it’s just people messing around."
