My forté is using words like forté with aplomb while using words like aplomb as though it were my forté.

It's TeganTurloughJoMelCwejIzzyMultipleDoctorsTheMaster and more

So I'm kinda thinking. I have so many hats that I like to keep them reasonably separate, otherwise if I try to post everything that interests me, then my timeline becomes like that lump of brown sludgy PlayDoh and none of the threads get a chance to breathe. I know each of my interests isn't necessarily interesting to 75% of my other followers so I like to try and keep each passion largely separated, while also plaiting them together when it's the right time.
What I'm kinda trying to say is, Mastodon weirdly reminds me of the Ebay Discussion Boards which in the Noughties, were one of the first online communities I was part of, in both the Vintage Clothing and Dolls & Toys groups. Under my ID there, I became known as a helpful and knowledgeable (ish) contributor on fashion history and antique and vintage dolls. While you could skip back and forth between boards, each board was like its own instance with separate threads and chats

It occurs to me that instances could be an AMAZING way to create communities solely for special interests too. I know the Mastodon model is supposed to be about one account, multiple themes and topics, post everything under one name but from hanging out here, especially using Tusky, it almost seems to me to be intuitively designed for multiple connected accounts, especially given how easy Tusky makes it to pop back and forth between accounts.

let's have some light hearted fun with a hashtag. Here we go...

Your turn!

I don't remember quite so many injuries requiring casts/stitches/immobilisation and pets going over the Rainbow Bridge happening in such close succession as I've seen on my Facebook in the last few weeks.

In fact, when I missed a 16 inch step the other day, fortunately I didn't hurt myself, all I could think as I crashed was "bleep, don't let me be statistic no twenty something."

Seriously though what's going on?

Oh hell yeah. @mozilla is launching a Mastodon instance in early 2023! I’m very excited for this. Mozilla is really good at what they do. Firefox has over 200M monthly active users, and with any luck they’ll build better support for the fediverse into Firefox itself. Mastodon will greatly benefit from easy to use professionally run instances that can handle massive scaling https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/mozilla-launch-fediverse-instance-social-media-alternative/
