The "CET" time zone has vanished between Debian 12 and 13.

For good reasons. This is not a time zone but a time zone abbreviation. We should use "Europe/Paris" instead.

Now we have a crisis meeting because it's a major breaking change that can't be fixed because nobody knows how to set the time zone to a different value in the application 🤦‍♂️

@yuriiname це могло бути у зв'язку з технічними оновленнями які були в 2021 році у базі IANA tzdata:
Назви зон: Europe/Kiev було замінено на Europe/Kyiv, щоб відповідати міжнародній нормі написання.

Це потребує інколи зміни в коді.
Мені тоді теж довелось змінити часовий пояс, так як не працював один з робочих сайтів.

Edit: false alarm. We suddenly paid attention to the analog clocks and they were all wrong.

Hey, Fedi, wasn't #Europe supposed to change the time next weekend? All my digital clocks chaged, but analog stayed the same (of course). A bug in #TZData

This "deprecation" was never visible at any level, there's no discovery path for anyone that found or otherwise used these and stuck with it.

But none of that matters: The most recent Debian 12 installer still unavoidably selects US/Pacific for people living there, today.
