@saposcat , @willelm and I are hosting this #ScribesAndMakers hashtag game. We post a list of questions for every day of the month on our profiles and the website. It's a bit different from the writing prompts since we want to include all kinds of creative activities, and sometimes just have fun and play around a bit. The website is an addition to this hashtag game and doesn't make much sense without it. It collects contributions from our participants, like the knowledge base, some explanations in the about page, and also the monthly questions.

We also want our mostly indie creators to be seen, therefore we have days where everyone is welcome to promote their work (as opposed to spamming every day). We also try to get visibility and engagements for creators through our Talk to me Day, #TTMD, where one person is featured and answers the questions from the community. @saposcat is the inventor of the game, @willelm and I help.

I've enjoyed reading the questions and responses to today's event, and I've been inspired to remap a … key and an em-dash key on the Mac keyboards, both essential to my writing, thanks to you. Surprisingly, it requires software; it's not a feature of the OS. I've been wracking my brain for a good question all day and last night, but the brain is resisting. Darn. Well, here's my best shot:

You wrote that pursuing sales through your web site was satisfying, even if low volume. This probably means no break-even, right? Are you okay with that? Have you thought of pursuing conventional publication (agents & publishing houses)? What made you decide not to?

Random mix here:
-Where did the name Pickles come from? Do you ever have difficulty naming characters?
-Are you in any of your dreams that became short stories?
-I have to know about the Adam Savage art connection, and was it during Mythbusters' run?

And then, whether there was anything else you wanted to comment on that you weren't specifically asked about.

@QuasiTemporal should be along before too long for the closing questions, but I'm getting ready to turn in for the night. Thanks to everyone who joined us today. There were a lot of great questions. Thanks to @degroof for taking the time to talk about what you do. There was a lot of interest in the way you incorporate your tech background into your creativity.

@degroof

How did your interest in technology start? And have you always been interested in finding ways to combine tech and creative writing/art?

Hi. I've just finished the short story "Dandelion Seeds" and enjoyed it. How long did you spend writing each of the short stories that started with the first line on Twitter? I mean, once you had the first line, did each story come to you quickly? Do you still use the "first draft is good enough" writing technique?

You seem to like tree inhabiting critters. Tree lobsters comic, tree frog chess set. Why?

What's something that surprised you about 3D printing?

I'm just getting started with modelling for 3D printing. Any suggestions for an absolute n00b?

Good afternoon from Scotland! Have you 3D printed anything to help with your creative process? Like, to streamline your writing, or anything like that.
