Number of women made safer by new “statutory guidance”: Practically zero. I’m sure someone will find one example & project it as if it’s a constant occurrence.

Number of women on average* typically raped by the time the 40 days of alleged “consultation” on the new guidance: 87,452.

*using Cambridge Rape Crisis numbers, which likely also are underreporting as many never get reported.

Society is not fixing issues, it’s creating new ones and leaving women unsafe.

New “guidance” that isn’t won’t fix any issues. Just create more.

It means places will use cop outs like using the already woeful accessible facilities as the third space making life worse for trans & those with accessibility needs.

It’ll create a forced “outing” of people & create loads of social exclusion.

…and it won’t change the 91% of rapes that are by men, the 6 in 7 by those known to the woman, or 2 in 5 by partner or ex. As they almost never happen in toilets.

Majority of trans people avoid going to GP over transphobia fears

Pink News article on recent TransActual report:

“Ninety-seven per cent of the trans UK public reported dealing with GPs that have little or no knowledge on trans issues, while nearly three quarters have reported avoiding their GP over fears of discrimination.

Of those who had faced issues with their GPs, 60 per cent had been refused non-transition related care because of their gender identity.”

Yes (my experience too) to all three.

This video was one of the best videos I have watched on Transphobia and the links between people in that community. Also he talks a lot about the research that is cited so often! It is a very long one but fuck me it was amazing to watch. (I saw someone else on mastodon post about it but lost the link) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiOc0r31-Os

Tell the BBC to stop attacking trans people

The BBC is in shock after rightwing groups have claimed the broadcaster is against Donald Trump and “pro-trans”. But the reality is very different. A recent YouGov survey found that 70% of trans people think BBC News is “hostile” when it reports on trans issues. And they’re right. Even the BBC admits that it has breached standards on accuracy and impartiality time and time again with sensational news stories and presenters who blurt out anti-trans views.

All right, fellow transes damned to the hell of Terf Island, I'm in the market for a private trans healthcare clinic based in London, because the NHS are just too sadistic (and there's no hope of any Nuremberg trials any time soon...).

Necessary characteristics are that they need to have actual premises I can turn up to get bloods/Decapeptyl/etc. done (and ideally the option of face-to-face or online appointments), and they need to not be beholden to the NHS's worthless rules (if that is at all possible).

Cis people may not reply.

Thanks!

Just got a friend to call up the Tavistock gender clinic to ask for a transferral to Transcend, the new-ish gender clinic in the Merseyside. The Tavistock seemed open to doing it and asked her to send them an email, which she did and we eagerly await the results of.

If this works then it seems like a good path for anyone else in the local area since Transcend has a much shorter waitlist than the older clinics.
