RIP Rod Misey.

Two days after delighting everyone at the 50th anniversary reunion of the old gang from WCVT Towson (then-State) University's freeform radio station, legendary punk radio DJ Rod Misey passed away.

Gutted that I missed it. My last chat with Rod was him asking me to attend the reunion. Poverty did not permit that. So I'll say what needs saying here:

Thanks, Rod. Those Fridays with me in the afternoon and you afterward with the punk were so fun and taught me so much... Grateful that you kept the goodness going for four decades! Listening to the Feelies and your final WVUD playlist (from a couple weeks ago!) in your honor.

I hope you dig heaven.

IAM Union Statement on Apple's Decision to Close First Unionized Apple Retail Store - IAM Union

The IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) released the following statement: “The IAM Union is outraged by Apple’s decision to close its Towson, Md., store—the first unionized Apple retail location in the United States—and abandon both its workers and a community that relies on it for critical services and its unique access

IAM Union

#Apple is worth nearly $4 trillion but can't tolerate the first store with #unionized workers (because of the #collectivebargaining agreement with these workers, they "couldn’t offer to transfer them to nearby locations.”)

One time, in #Towson, I had to pop into a bar to let them know their dumpster was on fire. Fortunately it must have just started, as it was pretty small (but noticeably bigger when I was walking back out as they called 911). #Baltimore
