Vanderbilt is closing their gender affirming surgery program according to a message I got this morning.
They said they’d complete my staged process, so I assume that means they will for everyone, but this is a huge blow.
Not sure if they are closing all their gender affirming care or just surgery as I only have my surgery done there.

In case anyone wants to know what dog ears are, this sort of shows you where, though it's not a view where the name makes sense.
It's edge of this scar, under my arm, where it doesn't lay flat - it forms an odd dimple when I'm standing up that resembles the triangle of a dog's ear. A technique for treating scars, including dog ears, is through tattoos. The needle breaks up scar tissue, and many people find their scars lay flatter after.
