Nel frattempo, però, la situazione nell’area è precipitata a causa dell’escalation militare in Medio Oriente, con il blocco dell’aeroporto e la cancellazione della maggior parte dei voli. Una paralisi che aveva impedito alla coppia di ripartire, facendo temere il rinvio dell’intervento salvavita.
Per giorni la famiglia ha vissuto ore di angoscia, mentre si cercavano soluzioni alternative per consentire alla donna di raggiungere al più presto l’Italia e sottoporsi alle procedure mediche necessarie al trapianto. La svolta è arrivata questa mattina. Nelle prime ore del giorno la piacentina è riuscita a imbarcarsi su un volo di linea diretto a Milano. L’aereo è atterrato regolarmente e la coppia ha potuto finalmente proseguire verso Piacenza, dove l’uomo è ricoverato in attesa del trapianto.
Il ritardo forzato aveva acceso i riflettori sulle conseguenze indirette del conflitto, capace di incidere anche su situazioni sanitarie urgenti e delicate a migliaia di chilometri di distanza dal fronte. For days, the family lived through hours of anguish, searching for alternative solutions to allow the woman to reach Italy as soon as possible and undergo the necessary medical procedures for the transplant. The breakthrough came this morning. In the early hours of the day, the woman managed to board a scheduled flight to Milan. The plane landed normally, and the couple were finally able to continue to Piacenza, where the man is hospitalized awaiting the transplant.
The forced delay shone a spotlight on the indirect consequences of the conflict, capable of affecting even urgent and delicate healthcare situations thousands of miles from the front. In this case, however, the chain of solidarity and the determination of the family allowed them to overcome the obstacle. Now the focus is on the procedure: the bone marrow donation can finally be carried out, offering the father a concrete possibility of treatment against acute leukemia. A story that for a few days held an entire community in suspense and that ended with the long-awaited return.
