Does anyone reading this use #thaura #AI (Uses EU based servers and the open source GLM 4.5 air model accuring to https://thaura.ai/faq )

Or does anyone have experience of running the GLM models locally? I'm always a little nervous when I see things like https://www.ollama.com/MichelRosselli/GLM-4.5-Air being under what looks like someone's personal account :-) It comes in at a 72GiB download #ollama

@ruud I hadn't really heard of #Thaura either before that article, although I'm already a Proton customer so should probably use there's a bit more ...
Thaura say [*] their servers are all EU based and using opensource models. The model they use is claimed to perform well against some of the others though: https://huggingface.co/zai-org/GLM-4.5-Air but since this is a fast moving part of the industry it may be worth keeping an eye on ...

I've got the new edition of #EthicalConsumer magazine. Top pick from the social media platforms? @mastodon !

Behind them - also "Best Buy"s - were #friendica,, #Lemmy, #Monnet and #Upscrolled.

Unsurprisingly all the "big" ones were at the bottom, although Bluesky didn't fare too badly and just behind the best buys

They also review #AI tools (details at https://www.ethicalconsumer.org/sites/default/files/flipbook/Issue221Preview/)
#Thaura and Proton's #Lumo being the only two recommended ones with the big players, once again, at the bottom.

@stewf haven't used google in years! I switch it up between #mojeek #startpage #ecosiasearch but never using #LLM as most responses are garbage
I have however been trying out #thaura an ethical, Syrian built AI mostly on subjects I have knowledge of, to test outputs, so far, the results are solid & it always provides sources
