"In her series, “Surface Tension”, Tabitha Soren (b.1967) examines our complex relationship with technology and draws focus on our increasingly tactile connection to visual information. Using a large-format film camera, Soren photographs tablet screens to reveal the marks left behind—the fingerprints, smudges, and oily residue of our engagement with the images below the surface. Exposed by the artist’s use of raking light, the otherwise invisible marks come alive with color and texture. Organic, gestural, and almost primal, these swipe marks stand in stark contrast to the smooth curves and cool indifference of the device itself. Brought together, Soren’s images serve as a poignant meditation on the role of digital devices in society and offer a reminder of the traces, both physical and digital, that we leave behind when using them. I thought it was one of those online signature arrangements, but no, slightly older new-fangled tech!

Social engineering is a form of cybercrime where attackers manipulate individuals into divulging confidential information. Another monitor. Is what I badly need. 🤓

Says the man with a 43" 4K monitor split into 6 logical monitors, plus a separate laptop screen with two terminal windows on it.

To be fair, there are also some browser windows in the background (each with multiple tabs).

All this on Virtual Desktop 1, because Desktop 2 has the socials, and Desktop 3 has the personals.

Basically, every geek's, I mean developer's, problem. 😉

"We will never sell or give your email address to anyone" is the biggest non-lie lie.

They just share everything about users at demographic level. And for the right amount of money, even user-level information, only replace mail address with another unique ID. ☹️

A new technology can "unwrap" images taken through objects, as X-Rays do, but peeling the layers like onions, to read ancient texts.

Spoiler: This one turned out to be the Biblical Book of #leviticus

One of the most important scrolls of the ancient world, it has been "read" without ruining the fragile scroll from En-Gedi.

Video has subtitles/narration in English.
