My loom is warped and so am I
Calling fans of tablet weaving. I have a book token to spend - what are the best tablet weaving books?
I'm more interested in historical reproductions than new patterns, but I'm also interested in weaving some fun queer designs. I'm a beginner with boundless confidence and a lot of other fibre art skills.
I already have The Techniques of Tablet Weaving by Peter Collingwood.
Thank you!
I'm making tablet-woven belts, guitar straps with bronze buckles.

Lovely day at Rajamäki. It was amazing to be weaving in the old yeast factory.
Ladders from Applesies and Fox Noses. For learning — tension and edges are a mess while I learned the loom and pattern.
This loom handles twist poorly. My first attempt to manage this was:
1. Weave the pattern (rows 1–32)
2. Flip all tablets
3. Weave rows 1–32 again
This doesn't work. I needed to mirror after the flip: step 3 should be rows 32–1. That confusion sent me to Twisted Threads, where I entered the full pattern plus its reverse to preview before weaving. From then on, I simply wove all 64 rows straight through. Twisted Threads' interactive weaving tool was invaluable here.
This pattern taught me the thread that appears on the top face of the band is the one traveling across the top of the tablet during the turn. I frequently lost track of whether I'd finished a row or started the next, and had to remind myself: if I weave this row, what comes up next? My ability to read what I'd just woven improved a lot — but it's still a work in progress.
The sun is shining and the tablet-woven earrings really pop. Sometimes it's nice to make something small.

My latest tablet-weaving project, woven based on a 15th-century trim from Siksälä in Estonia, is done. And I am trying out some new style of photos to present my woven trims and belts with some driftwood and dried flowers.
