MaryThis painting I finished a few months ago and I haven't painted anything this size or bigger ever since. This is only 8x10, but because I paint and draw tiny, to me this is a medium to large artwork. I really enjoyed this mixed media style and it looks better in person. It is painted with acrylic, then layered with oil pastels. Then varnished with cold wax medium and then the flowers got a layer of impasto with cold wax, mixed with oil paint. I love that some of it looks like it's made with crayons and it looks primitive because it is. I am definitely self taught, but I don't mind it one bit.
