Wie ist es eigentlich, im Ausland zu studieren?🤔 Diese Frage stellen sich jedes Jahr so einige Studierende. In unserer Reihe Erasmus Stories stellen wir Studierende vor, die bereits ein Auslandssemester🗺️ an einer unserer Partneruniversitäten verbracht haben.

A warm welcome to our guests from Namibia

A group of students from the University of Namibia (UNAM) @unam has arrived at Weingarten. The Rector Prof. Dr. Karin Schweizer said hello to them and pointed out, that international cooperations are very important to the University Weingarten.

The students are participating in the project MIBKon dealing with multi-lingualism in the context of education. Dr. Anny Schweigkofler Kuhn from the University of Education Weingarten, who leads the project together with Dr. Gerda Wittmann from UNAM, said that the students from Namibia are working together with the students from Germany, they have two meetings in person and are otherwise active in online seminars. The project has started in 2023 and is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung.

The students participating in the projects do not only have the opportunity to visit each other in their home countries but they can also acquire multicultural understanding and skills. Most of them are aiming at becoming a teacher, so these competencies will be very helpful for their future profession.
