Really excellent podcast by Strong Towns on why housing advocates want cheaper houses but falling housing prices is a full on disaster for capital. i.e. the house isn't the product, you as the mortgage holder are. Also, how microloans can get people who need affordable housing the most into actually affordable housing.

The Housing Market Can’t Tolerate Lower Prices. Now What?

If falling prices is the goal, then we need to build a system that can deliver on it. In this episode of the Strong Towns Podcast, Chuck explains how our current system prevents prices from falling and how we can build a better one. today I'm going to ride the streets of San Jose. Its kinda fun to ride down a divided 4-lane street with no cars; just folks walking, riding, rollerskating.
There is food and entertainment at some of the larger intersections. Its a good neighborhood building event.

I hope everyone gets a chance to ride a viva calle event in their town. #vivacalle #bike #ebike #calle #strongtown #sfbay #mobilizon

Per #ChatGPT: “based on the global projections provided by NOAA, and assuming a linear increase in sea level over time, we can estimate that San Diego's sea level could rise by around 4-8 inches (10-20 cm) by 2055 under the low-emissions scenario, and by 10-20 inches (25-50 cm) under the high-emissions scenario.”
