Finally got around to uploading scans and notes for the last weeks of my #dungeon23 project - yes actually from 2023. It's been a while.
I was thinking of doing an actual megadungeon #dungeon26 but I'm still not sure. I've been reading #Stonehell and playing #ArdenVul recently which has made me think of megadungeons. The theory is that it will make the "blank days" easier by letting me fill in corners but I dunno if that's realistic.

OSR tidbit, Stonehell 3B:
"Disused common room; dusty, small-sized furnishings; sidebar holds mugs and complex device that resembles an espresso machine. The machine produces a foul tasting, gray liquid the Small Men find delicious. Each mug of this substance is equal to a full day of food, but any PC drinking it must make a CON check to keep it down."
I choose to believe the Small Men just drink awful awful coffee.
Another OSR tidbit from Stonehell, level 3A:
"Dwarven Feast Hall: Dwarf-sized stone tables & benches ... Speaking 'Gudrun' while touching the carving fills all empty containers in the character's inventory with fine dwarvish mead."
I love the idea of it being *all* empty containers. Your flat coin purse? Full of mead. Spent quiver? Mead. Spare sack? Bursting full of mead.
OSR tidbit from Stonehell, 2C:
Chilling breath chamber: Caisson ceiling decorated with hemisphere globes & bas-relief of bearded man shouting. Writing appears in the relief's mouth. If examined, it reveals itself to be _chilling script_ (4d6+6 damage to reader and all within 10’; all but reader save vs spells for half damage). Mouth has secret compartment holding 700sp & 200gp.
(1/2)
From the asylum (level 2A) of Stonehell:
"Haunted hydrotherapy room: Sunken baths filled with dirty water... one pool suddenly boils if entered (2d8 dam; save vs breath attacks for half). Pool contains parboiled remains of an elf adventurer with 700sp & wand of detect magic (12 charges)."
That's a nice tempting bit of interaction!
I set myself a rule of only buying a new module when I manage to read one I already have. And then a corollary: no buying megadungeons until I finish reading Stonehell.
So I've started reading Stonehell again. As part of that I've been collecting blogs with useful insights.

Wayne Rossi has written a lot of really great stuff about running it with S&W: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site%3Ainitiativeone.blogspot.com+stonehell
