These photos are of St. Sebastian, the patron saint of Palazzolo Acreide, resting upon a richly decorated golden float (vara). Adding to the cultural uniqueness of the Sicilian festival, the float is adorned with garlands of red and white flowers and is notably edged with banknotes. Surrounding the statue are the 'Confraternity' members who accompany the Saint.
