Spent the last few years documenting my in-laws' garden. Most people take photos to remember the people; I find myself wanting to capture the places before they change. Colorful plants and flowers growing outside the fence. Among the plants, on the right side are bright pink phlox (Phlox paniculata, Flammenblume), lush Peppermint (Mentha × piperita, Pfefferminze). On the left side, deep red flowers of Bee Balm (Monarda didyma, Goldmelisse) stand out with their characteristic spiky form. Lower left to center, delicate pink-flowering Japanese Spirea (Spiraea japonica, Roter Spierstrauch) forms rounded bushes with clusters of small blooms. To the left a wilder shrub of Jostaberry (Ribes × nidigrolaria, Jostabeere).
