novelWriter 2.8 RC 1 is now available for testing.

2.8 Beta 1 included a complete revamp of the theme system. The RC 1 release also includes an optional Vim mode, which has been in development for a while.

Switched back to Linux 🐧
My old PC can’t upgrade to Win11, and with Microsoft Recall + forced accounts + cloud everything, I’m done. Installed Linux Mint: my 2014 Toshiba hates it (no sound, input dies after suspend), but the PC tower runs perfectly — faster and smoother than Windows ever did.
Next: get my Minolta film scanner + Sigma Photo Pro working. Feels good to be back on Linux. ✌️
